Dave's Picks | Wall Ladders Can Be Hip Too

The Best Wall Ladders, According to Interior Designers.

Finding something stylish for the most mundane home goods can be exhausting. Decorating always involves tough decision-making. Sometimes you feel like you have to choose between something that is beautiful vs something that is functional.

We've finally found some wall ladders that look like a work of art.

"Storage ladders bring a sense of visual height to a space," says Lee Mayer, CEO and co-founder of interior-design service Havenly. You can also throw on blankets, towels or even use it as a magazine rack. You can find ladders that come in teak, metal, and even brass designs! There is bound to be something for everyone.

Mayer and other savvy designers have compiled their favorite list of wall ladders. From Yamazaki, Article, Crate and Barrel, and more.

All the items from Yamazaki are designed by their in-house team at their headquarters in Japan. The leaning ladder is a great decorative, functional piece that will help bring that modern feel to any room. The ladder also provides a creative way to store magazines, towels, and other everyday items.

This ladder is perfect and super functional for those who are short on space. It is lightweight, easy to move around and assemble. The rubber stoppers on each edge help prevent the ladder from slipping and not scratch your floors or walls.

Basically, anything from Yamazaki is a must if you love modern and aim for a simplistic look.

This ladder is made of solid ash and powder-coated steel. It's expandable width-wise from 16-24 inches, making it convenient to adjust to whatever space you put it in. This ladder is not only super functional and versatile but also could work well for clothing, towels, or even larger blankets. You have the option of changing the width as you see fit!

This is a slight upgrade from the Yamazaki ladder listed above. This ladder shelf combo comes with five rungs and one small shelf. It's great for storage in a small bathroom. The rods allow you to hang towels on them to dry while the shelf on top is perfect for open storage.

This ladder was designed with small spaces in mind. Not only are they good-looking, but they are also functional to a T!

Ladder comes in Black and White.

If you’re feeling a bit more spendy and rustic, a hot upgrade in the $200 range:

Here’s a slightly shorter teak-wood ladder that Mayer calls β€œboho,” as it’s more rough-hewn thanks to the naturally distressed wood.

She calls it charming and says that draping some of your favorite linens on it would go a long way toward creating a relaxed vibe in any space. (That’s the beauty of wall ladders, says Mayer: β€œGiven their clean lines and inherent structure, they can work well in a wide range of spaces and styles.”)
