Legendary Hip Hop photographer Chi Modu recently passed away.
He died at age 54.
If you listen to Notorious B.I.G, Tupa Shakur, Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre — you’ve most likely seen photographs that Chi Modu had taken over the early years of their careers.
What makes his photography stand out from the rest is that it portrayed artists beyond their lifestyle. Chi Modu was able to capture the true essence and the person behind the stage name and facade.
His images made you feel like you were staring into the soul of these artists. His unique body of work throughout his entire career is absolutely phenomenal, truly must see.
