New York City Restaurant Week is back!

It only comes twice a year and the 2022 Winter Edition runs from January 18-February 23.

More than 400 restaurants from all FIVE boroughs are now offering two-course lunch and three-course dinner deals for $29, $39, and $59. Restaurants can participate a week-long or for the entire duration. Over half have indoor AND outdoor dining options as well as the same amount of food already on the existing menus.

With so many new restaurants, romantic spots, and straight-up NYC classics to check out, we’ve compiled an even more whittled-down list of our faves for you to check out.

 

The Modern

The Bar Room at The Modern is a 2 Michelin-starred contemporary American restaurant inside the MOMA! The restaurant features refined and playful dishes that highlight the best of the best ingredients. Lunch offers a $138 three-course menu or a $178 six-course menu, depending on how hungry you are so bring your appetite! Dinner at The Modern is a 6-course menu, involving a few choices on your part, as well as some courses that the restaurant is excited to share with you! The Modern accepts reservations 28 days in advance.

 

Tsion Cafe


This Ethiopian and Mediterranean-inspired plate is the perfect spot for vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores alike. Tsion’s $59 dinner prix-fixe includes lentils, chicken sambusa, doro tibs, and halva for dessert! This spot will bring something fresh, healthy, and delicious to your taste buds.

 

Fish Cheeks


Fish Cheeks has been a Time Out New York favorite since it first opened in NoHo. It's known for its fried chicken wings, grilled pork cheeks marinated in fish sauce. Don't forget to try their coconut crab curry and Isan-style grilled chicken as well. Their happy hour begins from noon to 3:15 pm and 5-6 pm each day. Fish Cheek’s food is inspired by regions of Thailand and is both family-style and family-run. Make sure you check them out this month!

You can spot this restaurant’s establishment about a mile away by its lovely facade and verdant bar-adjacent seating area. Not only is Wayan incredibly photogenic but the food is amazing. They are known for their satay bites, lobster noodles, and corn fritters. This place is known for its Asian fusion and chefs who blend favors that will delight and surprise your tastebuds. If you want to check out something new and incredibly tasty put this solidly on your list to check out during this winter's restaurant week!

 

Em Vietnamese Bistro


This Vietnamese tapas-style spot just opened last year. Its menu is basically seafood dishes and small plates to enjoy for a night on the town. Lunch includes items like minced pork, shredded chicken, beef, tofu rice, and noodle dishes. Dinner consists of clams in lemongrass broth, a scallop and rice porridge with garlic, and a turmeric rice crepe with shrimp and pork belly. This is the perfect spot to fill up and warm up this winter with some delicious and flavorful Vietnamese food.

 
 

Hearth

Located in the East Village, this upscale yet relaxed place serves rich and flavorful small plates. Here you can find roasted and braised domestic lamb chops with sausage, buttercup squash, and chanterelle mushrooms. Their food is known for more variety, more flavor, and more texture. They even mill their own flour and polenta on a daily basis. It's healthier and better for you too! Hearth is everything you want in a great New York City meal so make sure they are on your Village to-go list!
